Overview

Odongdo is Yeosu's signature small island, blending a forest of about 3,000 camellia trees, dense bamboo groves, and coastal walking paths. Connected to the mainland by a breakwater, it can be reached on foot or via a 'dongle train.' In spring, red camellia blossoms color the whole island, and the lighthouse observatory opens onto archipelago views. Island admission is free and it is always open (the train and lighthouse charge separately), with excellent access from central Yeosu.
