Overview
Milford Sound, in New Zealand's Fiordland National Park on the South Island, is a world-famous fjord shaped by millions of years of glacial activity. Sheer cliffs rise more than 1,200 m on either side, and Bowen Falls (162 m) and Stirling Falls (155 m) plunge straight into the sea. Cruises bring you up close to bottlenose dolphins, seals, and penguins, and rainy days transform the cliffs with hundreds of temporary waterfalls.
