Overview
Attached to the Institute of Oceanography, founded under the French in 1923 and Southeast Asia's oldest marine research body, the museum lines up an 18m humpback skeleton, a preserved dugong and over 20,000 specimens, plus outdoor tanks of sharks, turtles and reef fish. Facilities are modest but the collection is genuinely scientific. Beside Cau Da pier, it pairs neatly with a Hon Mun boat day or a rainy afternoon.
