Overview
Designed in 1924 by architect Gerrit Rietveld, the Rietveld Schroder House is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an icon of modern architecture that perfectly embodies the De Stijl movement. Its exterior of primary colors (red, blue, yellow) and geometric lines resembles a three-dimensional Mondrian painting, while the interior features sliding panels that allow free reconfiguration of spaces. Guided tours only; tickets must be purchased at the Centraal Museum. Admission about EUR 18 (guided tour included). About 15 minutes by bus from Utrecht Centraal station.
