Overview
Off Rach Vem fishing village in the north, dozens of red starfish scatter the knee-deep shallows in the dry season (November-April). Stilt-house restaurants serve just-caught crab and shrimp over the water, with swings and decks for photos; the rough dirt access road conveniently filters the crowds. Never lift the starfish out of the water — even briefly is lethal — and note they retreat deeper in the rainy months.
