Overview
Ghent University's Botanical Garden began as a research and teaching garden and offers free access to its outdoor gardens and greenhouses — a quiet, little-known retreat in the city. Visitors can wander through sections for tropical plants, succulents, and cacti, and the garden doubles as a relaxation spot for students since it sits in the middle of campus. On the first Thursday evening of each month, it stays open later for 'Late Thursday.' Free entry. 5-minute walk from St. Peter's Abbey.
