Overview
Prince Gong's Mansion originally belonged to Heshen, Emperor Qianlong's favorite official and one of the most notoriously corrupt figures in Qing history, before being granted in 1851 to Prince Gong, brother of Emperor Xianfeng. Spanning over 30,000㎡, it is the largest surviving Qing princely mansion, with some 60 buildings including the Silver Peace Hall, a Western-style garden, and a bat-shaped pond, and is famously linked to the novel 'Dream of the Red Chamber.' Admission CNY 40 (CNY 70 combo ticket including a theater performance). A 15-minute walk from Exit B of Beihai North Station (Metro Line 6).
