Overview

Hansando Jeseungdang is a historic site where, during the Imjin War, Admiral Yi Sun-sin based the naval command and planned operations while directing the Battle of Hansan. Taking a ferry from Tongyeong Port to Hansando and walking a pine-forest path brings you to the Jeseungdang and its watchtower, where you can feel the admiral's patriotism. The island and sea scenery are beautiful, adding to the appeal of the boat trip. Admission is free (or a small fee), and you should plan around the ferry schedule.
