Pantai Cenang Beach
Pantai Cenang is Langkawi's most developed and lively beach resort strip — a 2 km stretch of white sand on the island's southwest coast. Mid-range to upscale resorts, boutique hotels, and guesthouses line the beach, while across the road Jalan Pantai Cenang runs 1.5 km of duty-free shops, restaurants, beach bars, live music pubs, and massage spas in a buzzing atmosphere. The beach offers water sports like parasailing, jet-skis, banana boats, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), and ride-the-wave jump boats. At sunset, sipping cocktails at a beach bar while the Andaman sea glows golden is the quintessential Langkawi experience. As a duty-free zone, alcohol is notably cheap — about MYR 8 for a 1.5L beer or MYR 30-50 for a bottle of wine. Free entry (beach). About 10 minutes by Grab from the airport, or 25 minutes from Kuah Town.

TipsSunset (18:30-19:30) is the most magical time. Among beach bars, Yah Yah Yah and Ritro Cafe have great vibes. Paddleboarding to nearby Pulau Rebak is a fun half-day activity. Duty-free alcohol cannot be taken to mainland Malaysia, so enjoy it on the island.
