Overview
The National Museum of Dar es Salaam offers a comprehensive look at Tanzania's history, culture, and archaeology, featuring replicas of early human fossils discovered in Olduvai Gorge. Exhibits on colonial history, the independence movement, and traditional music and art help visitors understand the nation's identity. Traditional houses and folk artifacts are displayed outdoors in the museum garden. Though modest in size, the collection is well curated and one to two hours is enough for a full visit.
