Overview
Opened in 1935, Griffith Observatory sits on the southern slope of Mt. Hollywood in Griffith Park and is one of LA's most beloved cultural institutions. Free admission grants access to the historic telescopes, science exhibits, and the Samuel Oschin Planetarium (small extra fee). Most striking, however, are the terrace views of the LA skyline at night and the famous head-on view of the Hollywood Sign - the setting of an iconic 'La La Land' scene. Free (Planetarium $10). Reach via Metro bus or car.
Opening Hours
