Overview
Nathan Phillips Square surrounds Toronto City Hall, completed in 1965 from a design by Finnish architect Viljo Revell that won an international competition. It's known for its two curved towers embracing a low, saucer-shaped council chamber. The square is free to visit, featuring fountains and the Toronto Sign in summer and an outdoor skating rink in winter, plus a Peace Garden honoring the victims of Hiroshima.
