Overview
Opened in 1973 with Marc Chagall's own involvement in its design, this museum centers on the 17 monumental oil paintings of the 'Biblical Message' (Le Message Biblique) series Chagall created between 1956 and 1966. Based on Genesis, Exodus, and the Song of Songs, these late masterpieces fuse his signature vivid color with poetic imagination. Naturally lit galleries open onto a mosaic-filled garden and a music hall adorned with stained glass. Admission about EUR 10 (free under 18). 1-minute walk from Musée Chagall bus stop (lines 5/22).
