Overview
Completed in 1912 with the patronage of the Russian imperial family, this is the largest Russian Orthodox cathedral outside Russia. Backed by Tsar Nicholas II, it was built in a Moscow-Yaroslavl style with six ornate onion domes and vividly tiled decoration. Inside, gilded iconostases and Orthodox icons fill the space. It reflects Nice's history as a favored winter retreat for 19th-century Russian aristocracy. Admission about EUR 6-7. 10-minute walk from Tram 1 Alsace-Lorraine stop.
