Its central figure of the sea god Neptune rides a shell chariot, and the fountain became famous through films such as Roman Holiday and La Dolce Vita. Legend says tossing a coin over your left shoulder with your right hand ensures a return to Rome; about EUR 1.5 million in coins is collected each year and donated to charity.
