Overview
Opened in 2001 in Mitaka near Tokyo, the Ghibli Museum is Studio Ghibli's official museum, displaying original art, production notes, and a giant Catbus model from films like 'My Neighbor Totoro' and 'Spirited Away.' The maze-like interior and the robot soldier statue on the rooftop garden reward visitors who explore, and an exclusive short animation is screened on-site. Tickets are sold only through monthly advance online booking (first-come, first-served). Admission JPY 1,000. A shuttle bus or 15-minute walk (via Inokashira Park) from JR Mitaka Station.
