Overview

Byeongsan Seowon honors the scholar-statesman Ryu Seong-ryong and, along with Dosan Seowon, is inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and regarded as a masterpiece of Korean academy architecture. The view of the Nakdong River and Byeongsan cliff from the Mandaeru pavilion is celebrated as the essence of Korean garden aesthetics that draws nature into architecture. Close to Hahoe Village for a combined visit. Admission is free (or a small fee), with hours generally 09:00-18:00 (shorter in winter). The access road is partly unpaved, so drive with care.
