Hahoe Folk Village

Buyongdae Cliff

Buyongdae is a roughly 64m cliff rising along the Nakdong River across from Hahoe Village; from the top you get the best panorama of the village encircled by the river. You reach it by taking a ferry across from the village or driving over and climbing a short trail. As an open-air site, admission is free and it is always open. With distinct village scenery in every season, it is especially loved by photographers.

Dosan Seowon Confucian Academy

Dosan Seowon was built where Yi Hwang (Toegye), one of Joseon's greatest Confucian scholars, taught his students, and is inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with eight other Korean Confucian academies. On a serene site facing the Nakdong River, the study spaces and shrine are neatly arranged, showing the spirit of Joseon Neo-Confucianism. Yi Hwang also appears on the 1,000-won note.
