Overview
Built in the Goryeo era, Gyeongpodae is one of the Gwandong Eight Views, a pavilion overlooking both Gyeongpo Lake and the East Sea. Long famous as a moon-viewing spot, it is celebrated for the poetic idea of enjoying five moons reflected in the lake, the sea, the sky, and one's cup. As an open-air pavilion, admission is free and it is open 24 hours, so both sunrise and night views can be enjoyed. The Gyeongpo Lake trail and Gyeongpo Beach are within walking distance for a combined stroll.
Travel Tips
The Gyeongpo Lake trail is stunning during spring cherry blossoms. Morning mist with sunrise makes for a special view.
