Jeongdongjin is famous for Jeongdongjin Station, listed in Guinness as the train station closest to the sea, and became a signature sunrise spot after appearing in TV dramas. The beach and station area are free, and New Year sunrise crowds are especially large. It's about 30 minutes from central Gangneung by train or car.
