Overview
Ojukheon is the birthplace of the mid-Joseon scholar Yi I and his mother Shin Saimdang, preserving an annex building regarded as one of the oldest surviving Korean houses. Its name comes from the black bamboo (ojuk) that grows around the home. The adjoining Yulgok Memorial Hall and Gangneung Municipal Museum help visitors understand Joseon literati culture. Adult admission is around KRW 3,000, with hours generally 09:00-18:00 (last entry 17:30).
