Overview
Deoksugung served as the main palace during the Korean Empire era (1897-1910), uniquely combining the traditional hanok-style Junghwajeon Hall with the Western-style stone building Seokjojeon within a single palace complex. The noon Royal Guard Changing Ceremony is a highlight, and the 'Deoksugung Stone Wall Road' along its perimeter is one of Seoul's favorite strolling spots. Easy to combine with the nearby Seoul Museum of Art and Jeongdong Theater. Admission KRW 1,000. A 3-minute walk from City Hall Station (Line 1), Exit 2.
