Overview
Designed by world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid, Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) is a futuristic curved landmark whose facade, covered in roughly 45,000 aluminum panels, is truly striking. It functions as a cultural complex hosting design exhibitions, fashion shows, and conventions, and glows spectacularly at night alongside the LED rose garden in Dongdaemun History & Culture Park. Easy to pair with late-night shopping at nearby Dongdaemun Market. Free admission (exhibition fees vary). Directly connected to Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station (Lines 2, 4, 5).
Travel Tips
Night photos of the illuminated facade are especially striking. The LED rose garden is loveliest just after sunset.
