Overview
Opened in 2008, Oslo's striking new landmark resembles an iceberg floating on the fjord, clad in white marble and glass. Designed by Norwegian firm Snohetta, its sloping roof can be freely walked up, opening panoramic views of the Oslofjord and the city. Inside, opera and ballet performances fill the main stages. The building is hailed as a modern architectural masterpiece and has earned numerous international awards. Walking on the roof is free; performance tickets separate. 5-minute walk from Oslo Central Station.
