Overview
Completed in 1965, Tromsø's landmark cathedral features triangular concrete panels evoking icebergs and the aurora borealis. The enormous stained-glass window covering the entire east wall - one of the largest in Europe - depicts the return of Christ. During the midnight sun season (June-July), Midnight Sun concerts are held inside, and in winter the northern lights often shimmer above the cathedral.
Travel Tips
Don't miss the Midnight Sun Concert in summer (starting 23:30). Reach it across the Tromsø Bridge - about a 30-minute walk.
