Overview
Created in 1925 by King Rama VI, Lumpini Park sprawls across 570,000 square meters in central Bangkok and is often dubbed 'Bangkok's Central Park.' You can hire pedal boats on the lake (THB 100 for 30 minutes), and at dawn and dusk locals fill the park practicing tai chi, aerobics, and jogging. Some 400 wild Asian water monitor lizards live in the park, providing a unique sight. The Lumpini Muay Thai Stadium nearby pairs well on the same itinerary. Free entry. Directly at MRT Lumphini Station, Exit 3.
Opening Hours
Daily 04:30-22:00
Travel Tips
Visit early morning (05:00-07:00) or evening (17:00-19:00) for cooler air and a glimpse of daily local life. Do not disturb the monitor lizards — keep your distance.
