Overview
Built by Mehmed II in 1465, Topkapı Palace was the official residence and administrative centre of the Ottoman sultans for about 400 years. Perched on Seraglio Point overlooking the Bosphorus and Golden Horn, the vast complex spans four courtyards containing the Harem, Treasury, kitchens, and gardens. The Treasury displays dazzling pieces including the 86-carat Spoonmaker's Diamond and the Topkapı Dagger, while the Harem — the sultan's private domain — astonishes with ornate tilework. Admission about TRY 750 (about EUR 22; Harem an additional TRY 400). 5-minute walk from Tram T1 Sultanahmet.
Opening Hours
