Overview
Originally a 1930s freight rail line, the High Line was abandoned in 1980 and reopened in 2009 as a 2.3km elevated park. Running from Gansevoort Street to 34th Street through Chelsea, Meatpacking District, and Hudson Yards, it threads wildflowers, shrubs, benches, and art installations through the cityscape. Along the way are the Whitney Museum, Chelsea Market, and The Vessel - all worth combining. Early morning or evening offers the quietest, most photogenic moments. Free. A 5-minute walk from 14 St (A/C/E/L).
Opening Hours
