Overview
Founded in 1919 by the École française d'Extrême-Orient, this riverside museum holds the world's largest trove of Champa sandstone sculpture — some 300 works from the kingdom that ruled central Vietnam from the 2nd to 15th centuries. Galleries organized by excavation site (My Son, Tra Kieu, Dong Duong) trace Shiva, Vishnu and Garuda through a uniquely Southeast Asian lens. Visit before a My Son tour and the empty niches there fill themselves in. The colonial yellow building beside Dragon Bridge photographs beautifully too.
