Overview
Opened in 1973, the Sydney Opera House is one of the world's most recognizable performing arts venues, with its iconic shell-shaped roof designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it hosts more than 1,500 performances and welcomes over 8 million visitors each year. Set against Sydney Harbour and the Harbour Bridge, it's an emblem of Australia, and guided tours reveal the interior and the building's backstory. Enjoying a drink at the Opera Bar with the night view is also a popular experience.
Opening Hours
Guided tours: daily 09:00-17:00 (performances scheduled separately).
