Sydney

시드니

Australia's largest city, famed for the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, and surrounded by beautiful beaches and a stunning harbour. Take in the Opera House and Harbour Bridge from Circular Quay, and experience Aussie surf culture at Bondi Beach. The Rocks is where Australian settlement began, and Chinatown and Surry Hills are multicultural food hubs. Blue Mountains day trips and harbour ferry rides are musts.

Best Season

Spring (September-November) and autumn (March-May) are the best times to visit. Summer (December-February) is hot but ideal for the beach.

Budget

Daily budget around KRW 200,000-350,000 (accommodation 120,000-200,000; food 40,000-80,000; transport and admissions 40,000-70,000).

Transport

About 15 minutes from Sydney Airport to the city center on the Airport Link train. An Opal card covers trains, buses, ferries, and light rail. SIM cards (Optus, Vodafone) available at the airport (AUD 30-50). Tap and card payments are the norm; cash is rarely needed. Tipping is not mandatory but 10% for good service is common at restaurants.

Visa

Korean passport holders must apply for an ETA (electronic travel authority) in advance (up to 90 days' stay).

Safety

Generally a very safe city. At the beach, watch for rip currents and swim between the flagged areas.
