Overview
Stretching roughly 1km between Interlaken Ost and West stations, Hoheweg boulevard took shape in the 1860s when two hoteliers lined it with flowers, trees, and grand hotels, and it remains the town's signature street today. At its center lies Hohematte Park, a roughly 14-hectare green space protected since 1864, famous as the landing site for paragliders drifting down against a backdrop of the Jungfrau massif. Historic buildings line the boulevard, including the Hotel Victoria-Jungfrau, which opened in 1870, making a simple stroll feel like a walk through Interlaken's history. The promenade and park are free and open to everyone.
