Overview

Part of the municipality of Lauterbrunnen, Wengen is a road-free, car-free village reached in about 12 minutes from Lauterbrunnen via the Wengernalp Railway (WAB). From the village you can take in both the sweeping Lauterbrunnen Valley and the Jungfrau, Monch, and Eiger massif, and in winter it hosts the famous Lauberhorn Alpine Ski World Cup race. Entering the village is free; fares apply separately for the Wengen-Mannlichen cable car or the train onward to Kleine Scheidegg.
