Overview
Hamburg's most beloved church, affectionately called 'Michel.' Completed in 1786, this Baroque Protestant church has survived two fires and WWII bombing — symbolizing Hamburg's resilience. The 132-meter spire is one of the city's tallest viewpoints; climb about 450 steps or take the elevator for a 360-degree view of the harbour, Elbe, and city. The interior, decorated in white and gold, is brilliantly bright. A trumpet fanfare is played from the tower daily at 10:00 and 21:00. Tower admission about EUR 8. 10-minute walk from S-Bahn/U-Bahn Stadthausbrücke.
Opening Hours
09:00-19:30 (09:00-17:30 November-April)
