Overview
Tanah Lot is one of Bali's most revered Hindu temples, standing on a rock formation in the sea. It is said to have been founded in the 16th century by the Javanese priest Dang Hyang Nirartha. At high tide the rock is surrounded by water for a mystical atmosphere, while at low tide you can walk close to the temple. The silhouette against the Indian Ocean sunset is one of Bali's most iconic vistas. Admission IDR 60,000. About 1 hour by taxi from Kuta.
