Overview

Completed in 1914, Jeondong Cathedral is the Honam region's first Romanesque-style church, and its elegant facade of red brick and gray granite is a landmark of the Jeonju Hanok Village. Built on a site where Korean Catholic martyrs were executed, it is a place of historical significance and a famous film and drama location. The exterior and grounds are free, and the interior can be viewed outside of Mass times (viewing is limited during services). It sits directly across from Gyeonggijeon for an easy combined visit.
