Jeonju Hyanggyo was a state-run local Confucian education institution of the Goryeo and Joseon eras, preserving traditional buildings such as the Daeseongjeon and Myeongnyundang halls. The giant centuries-old ginkgo trees on the grounds turn golden in autumn, making it one of Jeonju's finest foliage spots. Its serene mood has made it a beloved filming location for period dramas. Admission is free, with hours generally 09:00-18:00. Connected on foot from the Hanok Village, it's a quiet stroll.
