Overview
In the heart of Bryggen, the Hanseatic Museum occupies an 18th-century wooden building where Hanseatic merchants actually lived, with offices, bedrooms, and kitchens preserved intact. Experience the harsh lives of apprentice merchants in cramped, dim offices and the freezing winters when fires were forbidden due to fire risk. The nearby Schøtstuene preserves the large communal halls where merchants gathered to meet and dine. Admission about NOK 150 (combined ticket). 1-minute walk from Bryggen tram stop.
