Overview
The Elephant Breeding Center is a government-run Asian elephant conservation and breeding facility about 3km from Sauraha. Visitors can observe elephants of all ages, from newborn calves to adults, at close range. Timing your visit with bath time lets you watch elephants playing happily in the river. The center provides educational insight into elephant ecology, breeding programs, and conservation efforts, and is especially popular with families. Free admission. About a 30-minute walk or 10-minute cycle from Sauraha.
