Overview
Tharu villages let visitors experience the traditional way of life of the indigenous Tharu people of the Chitwan plains. Mud-and-bamboo houses, distinctive wall paintings, and live music and dance performances bring the culture to life, while guides explain Tharu farming traditions and uses of medicinal herbs. The evening stick dance and peacock dance shows are a must during any Chitwan visit. Village visit about NPR 500-1,000 (including guide). Walk or cycle from Sauraha.
