Overview
The Rapti River Canoe Safari lets you glide along the Rapti River in a traditional dugout canoe on the edge of Chitwan National Park. Basking gharials (Indian crocodiles) and marsh mugger crocodiles line the banks, while colorful kingfishers, herons, and other bird species fly overhead. The roughly one-hour canoe ride is typically followed by a jungle walking safari along the riverbank. Canoe tour about NPR 500-1,000/person (guide included). Departs from Sauraha.

Travel Tips
Early morning tours offer the most wildlife sightings. The narrow canoe rocks, so secure your camera. A waterproof bag is handy.
