Overview
Housed in an 18th-century colonial mansion, the Larco Museum is Lima's premier archaeology museum, displaying 5,000 years of pre-Columbian ceramics, textiles, and gold and silver work. Artifacts from the Moche, Chimú, and Inca civilizations are organized systematically, and visitors can step into the open storerooms to view all 45,000 pieces — a rare experience. The bougainvillea-filled garden is enchanting, and the on-site café is a lovely spot to relax with garden views.
