Overview
Begun in the 14th century, St. Mary's Basilica is the world's largest brick church, stretching 105m long and 78m tall. It can hold up to 25,000 people, and inside, a 15m astronomical clock from 1470 tracks the positions of the sun, moon, and planets. Climb 405 steps to the bell tower for sweeping views over Gdańsk, the Baltic, and the Motława River. Heavily damaged in WWII, it was carefully restored after the war.
