Overview
Opened in 1891 as the world's first open-air museum, Skansen recreates rural Swedish life with 150+ historic buildings (farmhouses, churches, windmills, 16th-century villages) relocated from across Sweden. Costumed staff demonstrate bread-baking, glass-blowing, and animal husbandry, and the attached zoo houses Sweden's native wildlife including moose, bears, wolves, and reindeer. Set on a hill on Djurgården, it offers grand views of Stockholm. Admission about SEK 220 (EUR 19). Tram 7 to Skansen stop.
Opening Hours
10:00-15:00 (varies seasonally; 10:00-20:00 in Jun-Aug).
Travel Tips
