Overview

Elephant Nature Park is a rescue and rehabilitation center founded in the 1990s by Thai activist Lek Chailert, located about 60km north of Chiang Mai. Elephants rescued from tourism riding and performance industries live freely in open natural areas, and visitors can feed, walk alongside, and bathe elephants in the river. As a leading model of ethical tourism — no elephant riding allowed — it has earned worldwide acclaim. A full-day visit costs about THB 2,500 (approximately KRW 95,000, including lunch and transport). About 1 hour by car from Chiang Mai city.
