Overview
Just north of Göreme, Love Valley is famous for its uniquely phallic rock pillars rising 30–40m high. Sculpted over millions of years by the weathering of volcanic tuff, they create an especially striking scene when viewed from a hot air balloon. A roughly 1-hour trekking route winds through the valley, letting you experience the geological wonder of Cappadocia up close. The viewpoint at the valley entrance is particularly beautiful at sunset. Free entry. About 20 minutes on foot from Göreme.
