Overview
A roughly 4km valley connecting Göreme and Uçhisar, named for the thousands of pigeon holes carved into its cliff faces. Locals once created these to collect pigeon droppings as fertiliser for vineyards, reflecting Cappadocia's unique agricultural traditions. The trail winding through fairy chimneys and surreal rock formations is easy enough for all fitness levels. At the valley entrance, tourists enjoy hanging nazar (evil-eye) charms on the wishing trees. Free entry. Start below Uçhisar Castle and walk to Göreme.
