Overview
Arusha National Park sits just 25km from downtown Arusha and packs a surprising variety of ecosystems into a small area. Located at the base of Mount Meru (4,566m), it offers sightings of giraffes, buffalo, colobus monkeys, and flamingos. Canoe safaris on the alkaline Momela Lakes and hikes around the Ngurdoto Crater are popular activities. It is perfect as a half-day safari before or after Kilimanjaro or the Serengeti, and walking safaris on foot are a standout feature.

Travel Tips
One of the few parks that allows walking safaris - definitely try one. Kilimanjaro is visible on clear days. A half-day tour is enough, and it pairs well with Arusha town.
