Overview
Curi-Cancha is a privately operated cloud-forest reserve in the Monteverde area that strictly limits visitor numbers for optimal wildlife viewing. It boasts the highest quetzal-sighting success rate in the region, and rare birds like the bellbird and emerald toucanet are regular finds. The 7km of trails are flat and easy, and the quiet environment lets you tune in to birdsong and forest sounds. Advance booking is strongly recommended due to the visitor cap.
Opening Hours
Daily 07:00-15:00 (advance booking recommended).
Travel Tips
The first entry slot at dawn offers the best quetzal odds. Binoculars are essential, and moving quietly is key.
