Overview
Perched at 1,600m in northwestern Costa Rica, the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is an ecological treasure with more than 2,500 plant species and 400 bird species. Mist-shrouded moss-draped trees and ferns conjure a storybook forest, and it's one of the world's best places to spot the brilliantly plumaged resplendent quetzal.
